Reading this article I realised why we are better off without the heavily mechanised retail storage food chains that will eventually freeze and serve up most vegetables, fruits and other out-of-season perishables. For the last few months I kept coming across initiatives where people encourage each other to buy locally and cook and eat...

I wondered why the necessity for the emphasis. Delhi's winter bought out lovely leafy, green veggies which I would buy, though not knowing how I would cook them. Fruits and summer...well thats another divine break! Vegetables taste better when fresh - we know that right? Nothing like relishing the fruits that are in season right? No rocket science there I would imagine but reading these Six rules to eating wisely (Via), I realised that when the culture is fast and cheap (for food only!), such tips are needed!
