A fruity summer!

Some one once told my boss 'Delhi main phal nahi kahye tho kya kiya' (if you did not eat fruits in Delhi, what did you do?) Of course this was winter time and green green leafy vegetables were more in abundance than fruits which consisted only of oranges and gooseberries.
But comer this blardy summer and one thing that rocks in Delhi is its fruits. I mean you can make meals of them and still do not tire of them. There are lychees, melons - at least four kinds excluding the watermelons, peaches, plums, nectarines, cherries, apples, bananas, kiwis and of course, mangoes. If you are in Delhi, head out right now and pick the best, sit on your balcony/terrace today night (its just one day after full moon) and enjoy!

I really miss Delhi mangoes! I know it sounds crazy - everyone goes to bombay to buy the famous alphansos and ratnagirias. But then every mango here tastes just the same.

Coming to Delhi soon to feast on the variety that the tart totapari, the sweet dashehri, the fleshy langda or the delicate safeda offer.
