How would you like your eggs?.. with chocolate chip cookies
These last few days at work allows me lunches all over the place and today was one of them. Of course the options are few and far between but today by the end of lunch decidely felt something out of like Alice in Wonderland or closer to our times, like something out 'Honey I shrunk The Kids'.
Lunch was ordinary with a sandwich (for me), a salad (for Mukta) and a beverage each - half of mine went down my sleeve but well I always have a coordination problem. Post lunch we decided to have ONE chocolate chip cookie each, heated.
This usually tastes nice, ending the meal on something sweet and chocolatey and is not too much to finish. You know someting that masquerades as decadent but actually is not (no no the fat free stuff never counts).
But alas this place did not even have a raisin cookie which we could have pretended as a chocolate chip one and we decided lets head to another place famous for its desserts. Seated and while pondering which decadent dessert to order, it was proving to be difficult. Each and everything was rich and/or creamy and/or oozing chocolate and or sinful and/or... right you are getting the picture?
So we each settled on one coffee and one chocolate chip cookie. Now that did not sound too difficult to finish. But little did we know. Before I describe what actually came to the table, I have to describe the settings around. Its considered one of the trendier coffee places in mumbai but well for me, its just a slightly more expensive and dimly lit coffee bar. Second all the furniture (which is for sale) is huge, uncomfortable and tends to dwarf the sitter(?). But by now we are used to this hazy, dim coffee shop with huge baroque-ish furniture.
Back to the table. Our coffees arrive in tall mugs... well taller than usual and just as were are settling back on strategising how to finish this, there arrives the cookie. A cookie the size of a quarter place and golden brown with chocolate chips!
And to think we nearly ordered two. I was quite shocked. I mean it looked like a chocolate chip cookie ka baap :) We struggled with itty bitty pieces and still managed to finish only half of it by the end. And by end I mean the end of our time there - not the coffee.. which also got left behind.
By the end definitely felt like I was wading through huge grass, biting bits of a huge cookie, just trying to ge my parents to notice me! Or in this case my colleagues...

True. Hee hee! J, Your expression on seeing the cookie was priceless! Now that was a Kodak moment lost.
Mocha should definitely consider a half-plate concept when it comes to cookies. :-D
