All that looks good need not taste as good?

My introduction to the blogging world was from a food blog. I read through her archives and more archives and most links and felt I was ready to take the webworld of food by storm. Ok. So still have to make a ripple... but have to make this post.

A week ago I was browsing through aisles of vegetables and fruit at a local department store (I love shoping for them but will leave that for a post with pictures) and I came across a bright yellow zucchini. Next to it were two raggedy green coloured ones.

I instantly snatched one up I recalled reading something simple about chopping it up and a dash of oil, a sprinkle of pepper and voila a delicious yet simple thing would be created. So I hurridly grabbed the yellow one and rushed out.

Came home and could not wait to try it out. So washed, sliced and popped it into a frying pan with hot EVOO (thats extra virgin olive oil) and cooked it. Seasoned it with pepper n salt and excitedly put a slice, steaming hot, into my mouth.

And promtply spat it out. It was hot, bitter and tasted like an over cooked cucumber. And here I thought the first thing I try off the net will be more exciting... sigh. Should not turn me off cooking experiments.. but it was the waste of a beautiful veggie...
