As V says, what you are calling tadgola is basicalling a fruit of a variety of palm. It's called toddy palm fruit in English and taal in Bengali and is also available in at least Thailand.
Mangosteen looks and tastes very different.
Thanks V, thalassa_mikra - I was wondering because.. someone is the US wanted to look for it and did not know the angrezi name. I guess isnt one really..
Mangosteen is KOKUM, the substitute for tamarind, atleast I think so!
