a dish of this and dash of that..

The last couple of weeks I been trying a couple of experiments in my meagre kitchen..
one was delicious boiled egg sandwiches with mustard, salt and chopped fresh celery! Try the combination - its crunchy, delicious and fragrant.. and way too glamourous for an egg sandwich. I guess need to try it with other fresh herbs as well.
two was pancakes with apples. These did not turn out as good as I thought they would.. The apple remained uncooked and charred in places while the pancakes were fine. But next time will cut them finer and add some cinnamon in it. Any suggestions or ideas for apple pancakes?
and three is that I am now a proud owner of a very pretty bottle of balsamic vinegar.. and while I scour the net for recipes.. do let me know any one dish whose taste was revolutionised post its addition.

For the apples, maybe it would help if you cook them first until soft, then mash and then mix with the pancake mix before tossing it to the pan :-)

For the balsamic vinegar recipes, I recommend this Foodista page. You'll find links to different recipes there with balsamic vinegar. :-)
